*This is in good condition, natural yellowing due to age, this does has some marks such as a recipe written in the back for ginger snaps, recipes name & page numbers, some spotting/staining from age and general use.

Lily Haxworth Wallace (1872-1952) was a prolific cookbook author and culinary educator. Born in Yorkshire, England, she graduated from the National Training School of Cookery in London and later moved to the United States1. She authored numerous cookbooks, including "The Rumford Complete Cook Book" and "The Lily Wallace New American Cook Book". Her recipes were known for their simplicity and practicality, making them accessible to home cooks.

Wallace also spent summers in Edgecomb, Maine, where she built a summer home and continued her culinary pursuits. Her work has left a lasting impact on American home cooking, and her cookbooks are still cherished by many today.

*This book is covered in Leatherode, a waterproof fabric, and then varnished.  Clean with a moist cloth only.  To avoid injuring the embossed cover design, use nothing but water.  (This was printed inside reverse of the title page)
